Always make sure you have planned enough time to maximise enjoyment of your trip. There's nothing worse than rushing to return the van on time. It's worth remembering that you will save a fair amount on your fuel bill if you cruise at 55-60 mph. Make sure you can arrive on site in plenty of time to enjoy the facilities there is no point in arriving late and leaving early the next day.
Its much easier to use the facilities on a proper camp-site than to "wild camp" so best to make sure you have booked in advance.
Carefully plan routes in rural areas to avoid low bridges and very tight country lanes.
Always take more care than you think neccessary when parking in busy areas. Although not huge it's definitely bigger than your used to!
Spend time on site ensuring that you have filled with water before parking up and ask for a level pitch. If that's not possible make sure you take the time to create a level living space utilising the drive on ramps.
A full user guide is in the van so make sure you familiarise yourself with heating etc early in your trip to enhance family fun.
Remember that 5 mins of preparation before setting off will make sure you are relaxed while driving. Check all windows and sky-lights are closed, all blinds including sky-lights are fully open and that all heavy items are stored in a low position.
Take some family favourite dvd's as its a sure thing you will end up in a poor reception tv area.
Recommend a friend after your trip to recieve a future hire discount voucher, we would love to see you back.
